People are more mobile than ever, and the last year has been a shift from major metros to more affordable locales.  Here is a list of homes $500,000 will buy in the fastest growing US cities. This list also taught us that people may prefer Forts during a pandemic.

    Fort Meyers, Florida | 3BR 2BA | 1,934 sqft

    undefined   undefined

    11125 Laughton Circle, Fort Meyers, FL 33913 | $497,000

Nicely constructed 3/2 in a nice neighborhood but without a lot of personality.  You’ll have to budget for the $413/month HOA dues for amenities.  We’re off to a pretty good start!

Review snippet from @marciramo: "It's a nice looking home, but crazy that a 3/2 in Ft Meyers, FL commands a half mil these days."

    > Do you think this home is well priced?

    Myrtle Beach, South Carolina | 5BR 5BA | 3,910 sqft

    undefined   undefined

2305 Raines Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579

Fairly new (2010) brick home on a little lake.  Nothing like photos of big trucks and old furniture to sell a house.  Also, I’m afraid $500K doesn’t get you close to the actual Myrtle “beach”.

Review snippet from @wallymarion: "Pretty sweet crib imo. Bet the pond out back is gator city though.

    Fort Collins, Colorado | 5BR 2BA | 1,872 sqft

    undefined   undefined

405 Clover Lane, Fort Collins, CA 80521

Compact rancher adjacent to open space. Fort Collins must be a hotter market than I thought, because I can think of 1,000 places where this house would be <$200K.

Review snippet from @jamieb: "If you want to live in Ft Collins, CO be prepared to live small and spend big. 1,800 sqft requires half a million"

    > Do you think this house is worth $500K?

    Las Vegas, Nevada | 4BD 3BA | 2,069 sqft

    undefined   undefined

5408 Tincup Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89130

If you’re looking for a low maintenance backyard, why not go for gold and avoid a single blade of grass?  Also, we can take the listing agent's word for it on the RV parking.  Maybe the RV would make the house look nicer?

Review snippet from @jflo21: "I don't like yard maintenance and this place doesn't have a single blade of grass, so its a plus? Plus plus for the light exposure too, not a tree in sight."

    > How does this home compare to others listed for the same price?

    undefined

    Austin, Texas | 1BR 1BA | 636 sqft

    undefined

    3206 East 16th Street, Austin, TX 78721

Review snippet from @richmondgal: "Hard to review a house with only one picture, but I am just guessing that the rest of this place is just as much of a train wreck as the outside."

    > Do you think this house is worth $786/sqft?

    undefined
